CREATIVE STORYTELLING, Jr. (3-5 years)**

This class will focus on dramatic expression through movement using music, songs and stories. Students will explore rhythm, levels and shapes as forms of expression of themes, emotions, and characters. At the completion of the course students will be able to express emotions and characters through movement, feel comfortable exploring movement, and have an understanding of how to use levels and shapes. Students will have a chance to share their activities with family and friends in the Sirius Theatrical Company's studio space at the end of the term. Traditionally, end of term presentations provide the opportunity to raise food donations for local food banks in south Etobicoke.

Focusing on the joy and movement inherent in physical storytelling, students will interpret music, songs and stories through drama, improvisation and character work. Simple text work will be introduced. At the completion of the course students will be able to interpret a story through physicality, feel comfortable expressing themselves through characters and in relationships, and have an understanding of basic movement principles. JUNIOR ACTING ENSEMBLE (8 - 10 years)**

The Junior Acting Ensemble with help to build public confidence in even the quietest child. With an emphasis on fun through acting games, improvisation, role play and character movement, students will become more confident and relaxed speaking and performing in front of others. This course is a wonderful compliment to the school classroom where students in Grades 3 - 5 are expected to be able to share projects and assignments in a 'public speaking' format with fellow students. Help your child to feel more relaxed and comfortable at the front of the class by giving them this opportunity to develop their speaking and presentation skills. Students will have a chance to share their activities with family and friends in the Sirius Theatrical Company's studio space at the end of the term. YOUNG TEEN ENSEMBLE (11 - 14 years)**

Designed specifically for the young teen interested in exploring the world of acting or the student who is considering drama studies at an arts high school, this course involves improvisation and acting exercises as well as text and character work. Members of the ensemble will explore body language and develop skills in characterization, enunciation, improv, physical movement for the stage, and scene study. Ensemble work also encourages leadership, cooperation, team building, focus and empowerment. The course will culminate with a scene and improvisation performance for family, friends and supporters in the Sirius Theatrical Company’s studio space. Traditionally, end of course presentations also provide the opportunity to raise food donations for local food banks in south Etobicoke.

Teamwork, simplicity, concentration and FUN are emphasized.

NOTE: Extra rehearsals may be scheduled to prepare for the end of term presentation.

YOUTH PERFORMANCE ENSEMBLE (14 - 17 years)**

The Youth Performance Ensemble focuses on developing a range of theatrical skills through the collective creation of an ensemble performance piece. Through improvisation, theatre exercises, characterization, a study of body language, and text work, members of the ensemble will learn acting, playwriting, and basic production skills. Ensemble work encourages leadership, cooperation, team building, focus and empowerment. The course will culminate with a performance for family, friends and supporters in the Sirius Theatrical Company’s studio space. Traditionally, end of course presentations provide opportunities to raise food donations for local food banks in south Etobicoke.
